Just before we get overly excited about the oncoming year, I’ve come to realize that the difference of one year from another is about the events that transpired during the 365 days. As expectations for the new year reach a sickening crescendo tonight, it’s important to note that nothing different will happen tomorrow, January 1. The sun will rise on schedule and close at the right time. We’ll eat, drink, make merry, pray, bant and engage in every life activity. Nothing will be different. The business of staying alive will not be suspended.  The error I’ve seen is that after we’ve prayed, confessed the watchword for the new year,  and engage in rigorous spiritual activities from 10pm tonight till 12am in the cross-over services, we go home and sleep. When we sleep, it is almost for the whole year. Many won’t wake up from that sleep until the next 31st December. They’ll neglect living through the year. Nothing grows out of life. Every November 2 is no different from any other day. It has the same 1440 minutes. However, it’s always special for me because that’s my January 1. Always a new beginning. My circadian clock revolves round the onset of autumnal   equinox . As always, I’m grateful for life, and all the privileges I’ve has the pleasure of sharing with other creatures on earth.    It’s soothing to know that one is not a freak happenstance. I mean, that puts being alive in a totally different perspective. As I try to unravel my purpose for being here, I cannot but notice that the business of being me is a full-time job. Keeps me occupied from November to October, year in, year out. But one cannot be or attempt to be anything all by oneself. Therefore I’m eternally grateful to all those who have made life happen for me so far. You people are too numerous to mention now. I’ll do that as the year progresses.
