BIRTHDAY MUSINGS

Every November 2 is no different from any other day. It has the same 1440 minutes. However, it’s always special for me because that’s my January 1. Always a new beginning. My circadian clock revolves round the onset of autumnal equinox. As always, I’m grateful for life, and all the privileges I’ve has the pleasure of sharing with other creatures on earth.
It’s soothing to know that one is not a freak happenstance. I mean, that puts being alive in a totally different perspective. As I try to unravel my purpose for being here, I cannot but notice that the business of being me is a full-time job. Keeps me occupied from November to October, year in, year out. But one cannot be or attempt to be anything all by oneself. Therefore I’m eternally grateful to all those who have made life happen for me so far. You people are too numerous to mention now. I’ll do that as the year progresses. As far as I’m concerned, you are all servants of God.
That I’m here is a testimony in itself. A long story for that matter. So, let me not bore you with the details of how long it took me to arrive here, or what it took for me to eventually be able to take care of my nocturnal enuresis business. You know, I remember vividly that on the nights that I pray earnestly to God that I won’t come up damp, the stuff just finds its way of happening. I’ll have this dream of just doing my thing beside the football pitch, and lo, it would have happened again. Many people won’t understand the psychological torture. It rids one of every iota of self-respect. Gosh! I don’t want to think about those nights again. What else did I not do? Piss on burning coals before going to bed and other ridiculous prescribed remedies. For a while I almost was tempted to think that God answers prayers in the opposite. Of course, my theology is better now. Maybe I should have been drinking less water, or stopped eating so late into the night.
The lesson I took away from that is simple. Nothing is ever beyond redemption. Nothing. You have a habit you want to shed? Don’t despair. Keep your focus. You crave a change? Hang in there, holding on to your faith. You’ll sing a new song. God came through for me on it when I’d almost lost hope. He will for you too. Believe me. I’m grateful today that He took that stigma away.
Here we are today. I tried to find out the significance of my new age, and all sorts of things came up on Wikipedia. Here are some that caught my fancy:
·         I can now stand for election into the office of the president of the United States of America! I guess I can be state governor here too.
·         It is the sum of the first five triangular numbers, making it a tetrahedral number.
·         It is the number of ways that three things can be selected from a set of seven unique things also known as the "combination of seven things taken three at a time".
·         It is a centered cube number, a pentagonal number and a pentatope number.
·         It is the total number of free hexominoes, the polyominoes made from six squares.
·         It is also a Størmer number.
·         It is the highest number one can count to on one's fingers using base 6.
  • The atomic number of bromine
  • And finally, is the basic film gauge most commonly used for both analog photography and motion pictures.

All sorts of wishes and goodwill messages from across the globe really made my day. I mean, not that I’m a  big shot or something. They were all genuine heartfelt wishes. May your prayers for me be answered and may you receive a double portion of your wish to me.
Sing along with me as I leave you with Kirk Franklin’s Kingdom Come. The words perfectly describe my day today. You can watch it here
I guess I should have a resolution going to my new year. Maybe I should start wearing goggles. You know those funky nerdy ones like Leke Adler wears that gives him that kinda ‘wise’ look.
The Holy Book says God’s creatures are still waiting for when the sons of God will show up (Romans 8:19). It puts some urgency in my purpose. I don’t have to keep them waiting any longer. Let me be done with this blog post and get on to creating a future for mankind. You know, humans cannot be trusted to do well on their own. Some of us have to hold others’ hands.

Ciao!

  1. Awesome post! So what is the age now? All that big big grammar. Remember some of us can't 'be trusted to do well' with calculations. So please break it down o!

Happy birthday to you sir! You get the best this new year because you deserve it
