KINGDOM WISDOM FOR FINANCIAL FREEDOM

Hello folks! Bishop Bolu Fam shared some very key things about Wisdom for Kingdom Financial Freedom today (December 15, 2019) in church. Let me share some of them with you:

#Thread (This is a Twitter thread unrolled)

INTRODUCTION
Freedom from financial troubles has something to do with mindset.
If you will have financial freedom, you need wisdom. Kingdom wisdom.

The starting point of financial freedom is to get financial wisdom.
Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

You need to attain full citizenship of the Kingdom.
A certain rich man asked Jesus what to do to enter the Kingdom. Jesus asked him to first disengage himself from financial bondage.
It looked senseless to the man. The same way we behave when it comes to your money and the Kingdom of God.
Jesus said it will be very difficult for rich men to enter the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is saying the system of the kingdom of this world through which they got the wealth has entangled them.
Kingdom wealth principles are different from the world's principles. It doesn't mean that rich people will not enter the Kingdom.

We have financial freedom because we put our trust in the resources of Heaven.
Jesus exemplified this through his lifestyle while here.

Financial blessing doesn't answer to prayer ALONE.
It is like a man that doesn't have a farm and is praying for a harvest. He will likely have to steal.

You must have the mindset of who you are in Christ. You are not what you are going through. You may have needs and lack many things. The fact you have those things doesn't make you a poor person, because Christ in you is the hope of glory.

Don't let your circumstances define you and make you classify yourself as poor.
People put themselves in financial crisis because of mindset.
"My God shall Supply all my needs..." (Phil.4:19) and 2 Corinthians 8:9 shows me that I'm not poor.

There are things that even people who claim to be rich don't have.
Don't define yourself by what you don't have. Define yourself by what you have! Christ in me, the hope of Glory:

Part 1: Practical Wisdom Keys
1. Know and love God personally. Enough of 'our God'. Your language should be 'My God'. That's how David will always refer to God.
Don't let others dictate how much you should love God personally. That will make God understand you know His ways.
Moses knew God personally. He met the 'I AM' personally.
Your strength to enjoy financial freedom is tied to knowing God personally. Deuteronomy 8:18
Israel's freedom and lunch in the desert was tied to Moses' relationship with God.

2. Be diligent in providing service for the benefit of humanity with Godly fear.
The money you will attract is tied to your services to humanity.
Money is an exchange for the service you render. Make yourself unavoidable.
Whatever you are selling, or the job you do, do it as a service to God. We live in a world that has normalized the culture of corruption where people are looking to cheat the other.
Remember you are not of this world. Practice Kingdom principles.

Nothing can announce you more than the quality of the service you render.
Proverbs 22:29
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
Your service will bring you to the class of kings.
Stop cheating people with your skill, instead, use it to bless them. Don't use people's ignorance to cheat them. The God of all knowledge hates that.
Colosians 3:22-23.
Do your job as if the all-knowing God is your employer.

3. Don't use false measure. Always give the value paid for. Make your gain plain.

PART 2: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT KEYS
1. Know your income on the average. Don't plan beyond your average income.

2. Know your unavoidable expenses based on priority. For example: Rent/Accommodation, School fees for the children, Feeding (at least basic balanced diet. May not be expensive and luxurious food).

3. Avoid spending money on what is not on your budget. Don't spend to impress people. Spend to meet your needs. If what you can afford is a room self-contained, don't force yourself to get a 3-bedroom flat.
Don't be embarrassed with your level today. Your future is more important. 'No dey do pass yourself'. In the Kingdom of God, we are only looking to impress God.

4. Refrain from begging and borrowing.
Have a budget for miscellaneous expenses. It could be something small, just put something aside.

5. Don't grumble on your journey to financial freedom

6. Avoid wastage of consumable items in your house. E.g. Food, gas, fuel, soap, toothpaste, groceries, etc.
The Kingdom of God hates wastage. John 6:12-13
They gathered all the fragments. Nothing was lost. Though the food was free, yet Jesus insisted that nothing must be wasted
Cook only what you can eat. Use up things before you open other containers.

7. Buy things that will last or durable even if they look more expensive. Don't be penny wise, pound foolish.

8. Always remember to Spend some, Give some and Save some, irrespective of the amount you are earning.
Thrift and osusu contributions are good for disciplining oneself to have a savings culture. You will always have other expenses calling for your attention. Prov. 21:20

PART 3: LIFESTYLE OF COVENANT GIVING

1. Pay your tithe. It is for your own benefit. Proverbs 20:25
It is an act of faith that precedes the law. Don't be confused of your faith. Jesus said in Mathew 23:23 that it should also have been done alongside other deeds.
The first sign that money is not controlling you it to defer 10% of your gains to God.

2. Give wilful offerings.
Give because you are inspired by the Spirit of God to do it.
2 Samuel 24:24
Always prepare to give. God looks as the heart. When God sees your heart is right with Him, He will use others to ensure that you have.

3. Pay your vows and pledges.
Ecclesiastes 5:4-6
Say what you mean, and mean what you say. Keep your financial promises.

4. Bless the needy and the poor.

It may be something small, but it will make a difference to the receiver.
Proverbs 19:17
Whatever you give to the poor, God will give back to you. Don't give to the poor so that you will become known as a giver.

5. Sow into the lives of those that labour over you in the faith.

What money cannot buy, Covenant Giving will bring it to you. The Shunnamite Woman and the Widow of Zarephat got what money couldn't get them.

In conclusion,
Remember that you cannot have enough money.
Therefore, be contended and faith with what you have.

Luke 16:10-13
If you are not faithful in money management, you won't have true riches.

I Timothy 6:6-10
Don't over stress yourself this Christmas season. Wear what you have. You've not been naked since the beginning of the year, you won't be naked now. Eat what you can afford. This is not the last Christmas you will celebrate!

Enjoy the Nigerian rice 😀!
God bless you!
